The London ASL club hosts an annual tournament in the delightful surroundings of Writtle Agricultural College, about 30 miles east of London. The 2018 tournament takes place fron Thursday 21st June to Sunday 24th June.
The gaming rooms open around midday on the Thursday, with a curry night arranged for the Thursday evening. On Friday, a series of one day minis are organised, with specific themes. Each mini has 4 players, with the winner being determined on a straight knockout / last man standing basis.
The main tournament takes place over 3 rounds on the Saturday and Sunday morning, with players being placed into groups of 4. The scenarios are selected from a pre determined list, except for the Saturday afternoon round, when everyone plays the same scenario (which is announced on the Saturday lunchtime). This latter round has, in the past, seen some of the more esoteric rules being dragged to the fore, including cavalry, aircarft and swimming!
As well as the organised tournaments, attendees can use the gaming areas to arrange and play non tournament games and campaigns.
